Beige Afghan Swap

I joined my first ever ‘afghan square swap’ a couple of months back, Yarnplayers Friendship Afghans, on Facebook. Our first swap is to be a fairly neutral palette: Creams, Lattes, Whites, Tans, Ecru, and I’ve managed to create some fairly interesting squares (if I do say so myself!) despite the lack of colors.

block #1

My first beige block completed, 19 to go.....

A little freestyle crocheting here....

One of only two that I've knitted so far. I'm finding it fun to get back into crocheting, after so many months of knitting!

Another one of my own design. Started out with a little square of 'afghan stitch', and then added all kinds of borders

beiges-block05

This was a fun trick--transforming a five-sided motif into a four sided square.

This crumpled up little dog-eared mess was supposed to be block 6. But I got bored with it, and moved on to block 7. I suppose I really ought to finish it up…. one of these days….

This one was loads of fun, designed as I went, and made out of a lovely, soft 'Vanna' yarn

A little foray into 3-D

Time for another knitted one--'Here, kitty, kitty!!'

beiges-block10

I am 'hooked' on kitties!

I am REALLY hooked on kitties!!

beiges-block12

A lovely BIG posey!

beiges-block13

Oh, look at all the pretty flowers! And won't they be even prettier in 'peacock colors'?! (Next project, can't wait!)

beiges-block14b

Block #14--A few stripes.... not as easy as one might think.....I worked hard for this one!!

beiges-block15

Freeform crochet, in an array of neutrals

beiges-block06c

And 'SOMEDAY' has arrived! Finally finished up block #6--well worth the wait!

beiges-block16

Block #16--circles!

beiges-block17

Block #17--my own design: 'X Marks the Spot'

beiges-block18

Interlocking circles

beiges-block19

Some Celtic hearts

beiges-block20

The Mighty Spiral!!

beiges-block21

And last but not least.... a little afghan stitch

finished-marked

All finished, and laid out in order. They look so nice--I almost want to keep them for myself!!
